Positioning SYTA as the "Voice of Student Travel"
An aggressive consumer media outreach by HAPR targeting major print and
broadcast outlets has significantly increased the level of awareness of
the Student & Youth Travel Association (SYTA). SYTA is a leading international
trade association composed of tour operators, convention and visitors
bureaus, theme parks and other travel service providers targeting the
youth travel market.
HAPR's strategy of positioning SYTA as the knowledgeable
and responsible "voice of student travel," and it’s executive
director as an expert and thought leader, increased visits to SYTA's website
by over 80% within the first six months of the campaign. It also resulted
in an over 300% increase in editorial coverage in publications whose total
circulation exceeded 34 million within the first year of our PR campaign.
Major media print outlets included USA Today, The New York
Times, Washington Post, Business Week and a host
other important North American consumer and travel industry publications.
The dramatic increase in exposure, in turn, triggered a surge of requests
from broadcast outlets such as Fox, CNN, CBS
and NBC for interviews with the association's executive director.
